WE THE PEOPLE END THE WAR CAMPAIGN THE HAGUE APPEAL FOR PEACE
We the people, as citizens of the world and participants at the Hague Appeal for Peace, appeal for:
* an end to the wars in the air and on the ground in Yugoslavia (Kosovo/a), and guarantees for the human security and right to return of all peoples affected by the conflict * immediate involvement of the United Nations in the search for creative and viable alternatives, and the immediate opening of a dialogue between the United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan and all the parties to the conflict * global peace action by groups, organisations and individuals around the world working to bring an end to the wars and to put forward alternatives for peace through concrete peace action and global mibilisation * support for the people of Yugoslavia and Kosovo/a for the reconstruction and rebuilding of the physical and social infrastructure of Yugoslavia, Kosovo/a, and for the safety, security and human rights and freedoms of all the people affected by the conflict * a Conference on Security and Cooperation in South-Eastern Europe to address the conflicts in the region and to work for long-term peaceful transformation of the underlying causes and structures of the conflicts in former Yugoslavia |
